5 out of 5 stars Barbell Bench   December 31, 2009

Great product for the price. It is designed for those that are 5ft 7inches or less which is perfect for me. It is sturdy and easy to use. Light and mobile. Doesn't take up much space at all. The compromise is that it is a short bench. When flat it can support the length of my upper body and head. When placed at a 45 degree angle it does not support my head when doing dumbell presses. My head hangs off the top of the bench.

It works well for leg lifts and decline situps. For the price you cannot beat it. Compact, sturdy, comfortable, easy to move around. I am very happy with the product.

5 out of 5 stars Solid Bench Would Buy Again   February 11, 2010

I received this bench in December, but wanted to avoid tempting myself with more strengthening exercises prior to a major competition. So, I did not assemble it until last month.

Pros:
The bench is extremely sturdily constructed (the only more sturdy bench I found was a Hoist unit at the local fitness store retailing for somewhere near $275) for a bench of its type. It was simple to assemble (the diagrams clearly identify all of the components, and the hardware comes in a labeled package), and although I don't believe this is mentioned in the literature, the bench folds mostly flat and could be pretty easily stored in a utility closet or something to that effect.

Con:
The only complaint I have, is that one of the lock nuts that comes with the bench was not threaded all the way through. This prevented me from hanging the dumbbell hangers that were included (this nut was one of several of it's size). I don't consider this a loss, because I didn't intend to use them anyway, and the part could easily be replaced with $.60 at a local HW store.

I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a sturdy little weight bench.

Great product. I like all the setups (incline, decline, chair, bench, and also the ability to remove the "upper leg" bar to let it be used more like a traditional flat bench.
One flaw (and it is terribly nominal) is the small "weight holders" underneath the bench are really built for small weights, say less than 8 lbs. My 15-lb weights sway and fall when placed there. Easy to assemble, looks like it will last for a lifetime of use.

Putting this together is a bear, but once you finally get it together it works great. If you are more than 5'8" then this will be too small. The weight that it suggests for maximum is pretty close to being right on. The price is great for what you get with this product. In store prices for the same type of bench is $40.00 at least more.

The bench is easy to put together (does take some time though), and it is very well made. The only issue I had was the package of nuts/bolts had ripped, and I was afraid some might be missing but everything was there. This bench is on the small side so if you are a bigger person, you might want to pick something else. For its size and price, I say this is a steal.
